
Thank you to W.L. Gore and Associates for awarding our school with a $2,000 grant to put towards students' experiential learning opportunities. We can't wait to spend the money in our efforts to extend learning beyond classroom walls!


Thanks to Ms. Jessica and the Flagstaff Public Library for bringing the Palsmobile to our youngest students. The students look forward to this day each month and love picking out new books!



Recent service learning experience at Flagstaff Family Food Bank. In two hours, Ms. Donatell and students packed 243 produce bags that will be given out to families. Thankful for the opportunity to contribute!



Yesterday, our 6th graders ended their recent novel study with a culminating "Stargirl Day" at the park. Costumes, treats, speeches, crafts, and ukuleles...a great way to head into Fall Break! Thanks to Ms. Mitchell, Mr. Irwin, Mr. Cola, and Ms. Carrie for hosting, chaperoning, etc.!





What a great lunchtime show today by our Karaoke Club singers and The FJAmmers (the F is silent, but they aren't!). Thanks, Ms. A and performers, for bringing some live music into our day!

Thanks to everyone who responded to our all-call for FJA special topics teachers! We are so appreciative to the many parents who reached out and wanted to share their talents with our students. We are still seeking a dance and/or yoga instructor who enjoys working with 12-14 year olds and has a couple of hours to teach 2 classes on Fridays (10:15-11:15 and 11:15-12:15), with an additional hour paid to prepare. Come teach two classes on Fridays, earn about $100 for your time, and have fun with our amazing students! Our Friday elective classes start on August 18th, so reach out to Carissa Morrison at carissamorrison@fjacademy.com soon to learn more and apply.

Join us: FJA is still looking for a few wonderful community members to come and share their talents with our students as a part-time special topics teacher! What’s your passion? Yoga, gardening, dance, guitar, theater, coding, or something else? Whatever it is, we’d love to talk more and see if working with our students anywhere from 2 hours to 2 days each week is a good fit for you. Special topics teachers can join FJA for just a few months or the entire school year. Pay rates start at $30 per hour.
