A heartfelt thank you to Tim Joyce and the whole team at Flagstaff Family Food Center! FFFC has been preparing and delivering free student lunches to both FJA campuses this entire school year. FFFC is reporting higher demand and use of their food services over the past 6 months. On one recent evening, their eastside kitchen served 400 dinners! If you're looking for a way to give back, FFFC has volunteer shifts open/unfilled almost every single day. Help once a week or just help once...it all makes a difference! Go to www.hotfood.org to learn more.

Hello FJA Middle School Families. This evening is our Bonito Spring Showcase! From 5-7 p.m., there will be art, student projects, and performances. Garden Club will have a plant sale and a nachos/chili dog sale will benefit FJA field trips. Finally, bring $5 and a 100% cotton clothing item for the tie-dye station. Hope to see you tonight!

Thank you for supporting the Scholastic Book Fair at our Cedar Campus last week. Sales have been tallied and this was our biggest year yet, with over $1,000 more in sales than last year! Your purchase directly benefits our school--each Cedar Campus teacher now has a $250.00 credit to spend on books. Thank you again!

Thanks to our amazing families for their thoughtfulness this past week during Teacher Appreciation Week. And a special thank you to our PTG--especially Brenda Kania-Neeley, Jill Sokol, Jennifer Mast, and Jill Knuth--for seeking out donations and giving their time to make sure every single FJA staff member was remembered last week. From the homemade goodies to the catered lunch to the gift cards, we were all truly spoiled--and loved it!

This will be the last newsletter of the 2022-2023 school year. Congratulations to our FJA middle school students who presented proposals at this year's Flagstaff Youth Climate Summit! All three student proposals--A Zen Garden, Composting at Bonito Campus, and Drip Irrigation at Cedar Campus--will be funded by the City of Flagstaff. Bravo for student activism!

Thanks to the City of Flagstaff's Water Conservation Team for leading learning at our Cedar Campus last week in honor or World Water Day. The seed-bomb-making activity was a hit with students and we thank the team for sharing their passion and dedication with our school!

Congrats to our Girls Basketball teams on terrific seasons and to Varsity for taking the Championship Trophy for the 2nd year in a row! Special thanks to our amazing coaches Shelly Cundy, Tom Drumm, and Travis Crawford. And an extra special thanks to Linda Ochi for assisting both coaches and students throughout the entire season!

Special FJA recognition to our former business manager Lori Langan, who passed recently. It’s difficult to put into words how important Lori was to FJA. She was our party-planner, in-house mom, financial expert, and friend. Lori always had a smile and kind word for everyone. The student-created rock garden around our Cedar Campus Peace Pole was dedicated to Lori last spring when she first encountered her health challenges. Peace and love to Lori and the entire Langan family.
Lori's Celebration of Life will take place at The Rock of Ages Lutheran Church in Sedona on Saturday, March 4th at 1:00 p.m. Lori’s obituary can be found here:
