What a night! 🎶✨ Our Winter Arts Concert was outstanding. Huge thanks to Julie Sokol and the Coconino Center for the Arts for hosting the evening.

Bravo to our middle school musicians and vocalists for sharing their talents with our community—what a joy to watch them shine! 👏

And special appreciation to our amazing FJA teachers, Ryan Williams and Antara Hunter, whose passion and dedication make the arts fun, inspiring, and accessible for all students. 💛

Feeling a little stressed this holiday season? 🎄✨

We hope these joyful photos of Ms. Cernohous’s students bring a smile to your face. These kiddos get to zen out each week during morning yoga--practicing partner poses, movement, and breathing. 🧘‍♀️

A big thank-you to Ms. Cernohous for completing child yoga training and sharing this calming, confidence-building routine with her students. It’s a great reminder for all of us to pause and find a little calm amidst what can sometimes be a busy season 💙

🚵‍♂️ FJA Mountain Bike Club — these Snow Wolves always ride in a pack! 🚵‍♀️

Riders have been on the trails all semester and--thanks to mild weather--they’ll be able to keep riding right up to Winter Break. Once the cold comes and trails get muddy, the group will head to Sedona to keep the momentum going.

Thanks to Mr. Ross and our dedicated parent volunteers for supporting club rides week after week. Your commitment makes all the difference! 💙

Fridays at our Cedar Campus—a day we look forward to each week! It's great to take time to recognize students at the Paw Draw and to celebrate their interests during classroom sharing. Every now and then, we even throw in a cozy pj-and–hot cocoa reading party! Small moments make a big difference.

Here’s to ending the week on a good note—together. 💙✨

Feeling extra grateful today—grateful for our amazing students and grateful for the snow! What a fun way to head into our week off.

A shout-out to our middle schoolers who jumped in to help shovel and de-ice after this first storm. We even had to turn 10 students away because we didn’t have enough shovels. That’s just how FJA rolls.

Have a wonderful, restful break, everyone! ❄️💙

Good morning, Gemini staff. We had an issue with our bell system on Saturday night. we thought it was resolved, but it seems like there's still a faint ringing in buildings. I am working on it now. Please dismiss according to your cell phone times. Thank you, Carissa.

Thank you to the City of Flagstaff for awarding our school a Beautification in Action Grant—supporting our middle school artists as they transform Gemini Campus utility boxes and building surfaces with vibrant, student-designed vinyl wraps.

We’re also grateful to Cassie Wilson, Lauren Mitchell, and Matt Clark for their collaboration and creative guidance throughout this project.

We can't wait to see our students bring their artistic visions to life—brightening our campus and adding beauty to the community spaces around us! 🌄✨

💙🐾 Way to show up, Snow Wolves!

FJA made great strides in attendance last year — reducing chronic absenteeism by 7.5% at the elementary level and 2% at the middle school level! 🙌

Showing up matters—for learning, belonging, and growing together. The recent Cedar Good Attendance Bubble Party was great fun, and we look forward to continue celebrating students each quarter who have strong or improving attendance habits. Let’s keep it up, FJA!

What an incredible fall sports season for our Snow Wolves! Huge thanks to our Athletic Director, Dylan Hearn, and all our amazing coaches — including so many dedicated parents — for the energy and heart they poured into our athletes! 💙🤍

⚽ Soccer – Finished strong with a 4–3 win over FCS, highlighted by a hat trick from Zavier Bolton. A young team with lots of promise for next year!

🏐 Volleyball – Our Varsity girls went undefeated in league play and brought home the championship trophy in the season-ending tourney! JV1 went 6–2, JV2 4–3, and JV3 gained valuable experience and made improvements each week.

🏃‍♀️ Cross Country – We had nearly 20 amazing runners competing this year with standout performances from Paige Olson (1st in every 8th-grade girls’ race), Tyler Wolfe (1st in Williams, top 3 in 4 meets), and strong finishes from Charlotte Varley, Summer Stuart, and Sawyer Matje.

Very proud of our athletes’ teamwork and sportsmanship!

🎭 Every Halloween, FJA students take part in our annual Mystery History event—researching, dressing up as, and presenting famous figures from the past ranging from Anne Frank to Martin Luther King Jr. to Frida Kahlo to Julie Andrews to Jim Henson.

💫 Love this fun and meaningful tradition that brings history to life!

🙏 Thank you to all the families who supported the research, creativity, and costume prep that made this year’s event such a success! ❤️

Thank you!

FJA middle school photography students visited the Coconino Center for the Arts to see and discuss "Route 66: Alternative Perspectives," a decidedly non-nostalgic and interpretive photo-documentary of life along the Mother Road.
It can be vulnerable at first when interacting with art. Thoughts like "what am I looking at?" or " I could do this" were really prominent at the outset of the visit. But after a group discussion, students took another pass through the gallery and really opened up to the photographs and connected with the sadness, lonliness, and resilience they saw in the work. They started pointing out compositional techniques, too. It was really awesome!

🍎🍲 Fall adventures are in full swing at FJA! Our Children's House students recently enjoyed an apple-picking field trip and then turned their harvest into delicious homemade applesauce back at school. They also brought in fresh vegetables from home to help make a warm, hearty pot of Stone Soup.

More than just cooking — the experience was a chance to explore the meaning of Stone Soup by reading and comparing three different versions of the story. In each one, the message was clear: sharing brings people together.

Adding to the joy, middle school students joined the younger ones in the kitchen. As they chopped, stirred, and prepared the soup, both groups practiced patience, took turns, and learned from each other.

We love these cross-grade moments because the best part is sitting down to enjoy the soup together at the end. ❤️🥄
