This lasting tribute reflects the expertise, love, and care Ms. Barbara poured into her classroom and this playground throughout her 25 years at FJA. Generations of children—including countless of our own staff members' children—were led by her kindness and unwavering dedication.
As we celebrate her well-earned retirement, we're deeply grateful for the incredible legacy Barbara Dornan leaves behind. And, we're delighted that she'll continue sharing her gifts by guiding and mentoring at our Cedar Campus this upcoming school year.
Thank you, Ms. Barbara, for 25 amazing years! We can't imagine a better way to honor your legacy than seeing children learn, laugh, and play each day at Ms. Barbara's Playground. 💙

Thanks to Ms. Carrie and Mr. Cola for hosting another amazing year of camp filled with hands-on science, outdoor exploration, and adventure. Lots of learning and memory-making!💙

We know their leadership will be missed on campus, but we also know they will do great things in high school and beyond.
We wish them all the best and hope they never forget their time as Snow Wolves. ❄️🐺

Thank you to Ms. Mitchell’s Murals Alive! PBL class for creating Gemini Campus’s very first mural! 🎨
Students studied mural design and public art, then brought this project from concept to completion — even hosting a public comment period to choose the final octopus design by Lily Stevenson. 🐙
Special thanks to Kayley Quick for sharing her expertise and VR headset technology, Lauren Mitchell for her vision of PBL and countless hours dedicated, and the Arizona Community Foundation for supporting experiential education at FJA. 💙

On Friday, we celebrated some of the incredible parents, grandparents, and friends of FJA Cedar Campus who support our elementary students all year long.
From driving on field trips, helping with reading groups, supporting in the garden, leading lessons, and so much more — our students benefit from their time, talents, and care.
And to all of our FJA grown-ups who pack lunches, help with their child's projects, and cheer on our school in countless ways: thank you! We couldn't do it without you. 🌟

From hide-and-seek poetry in the courtyard to the unveiling of our new mural, it was a special evening.
A big thank you to Mr. Sarnoski for capturing some wonderful moments from the event here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-jo5dull3ZW4cwcNVdFaPFZu99v5DXVm/view?usp=drivesdk

Our middle schooler are makers, artists, thinkers, and problem-solvers — and tonight's showcase is a celebration of their voices, ideas, and work.
We hope you can join us and explore some of the projects, pieces, and learning experiences they have been creating recently and, in some cases, developing all year long.
Not to be missed: Student-designed vinyl-wrapped utility boxes and Ms. Mitchell's PBL Class's octopus mural will be on display.
Our students are proud of what they’ve created, and we are proud of them!

From our office staff to lead teachers to instructional aides to specials/elective teachers, every single educator at FJA plays a part in shaping our students’ days (and futures). 💛
Take a moment this week to share your appreciation through a note, email, hug, etc., as our educators are truly the heart of FJA. ✨

Our elementary students had a great time—one first-grader shared, “I’ve never been to a rock concert before...this changed my life,” while others suggested the band should be “on the internet.” We also loved seeing our 6th-grade band member quickly gain a 3rd-grade fan club.
We appreciate you sharing your music with our younger students—keep rocking! 🤘

Families—keep an eye out for text updates when they reach Barstow and again as they pass through Seligman.
We know many students may take a well-earned recovery day at home tomorrow—completely understandable after such an incredible trip!
We can’t wait to hear their stories and see more photos soon 📸
