Summertime allows our school to freshen up and make repairs! We’ve been busy polishing floors, painting, carpet cleaning, repairing signage, landscaping, planting, and preparing classrooms. Thanks to all of our staff for pitching in before the first contract day even began. And special thanks to John and Lois Neff, Twilight Janitorial, Quality Connections, Bob Bax at Bax Custom Painting, and Brian Rees at Wild Landscape for making our campuses their priority this past month!

See you all in just over a week now!

Celebrating our Bonito Campus's first zucchinis and tomatoes! By the season's end, we should have beans, squash, and pumpkins. Thanks to Steph Jackson for leading the gardening effort and to Lauren Mitchell, Carol Fritzinger, and Ellery Swan for watering all summer!

FJA will be closed July 4th through July 8th. Limited office staff will be available the week of July 11th. Enrollment inquiries will be responded to upon our full office staff's return the week of July 18th. Thank you and happy summer holiday!

Tomorrow is the last day of Adventure Camp for middle schoolers at our Bonito Campus, too. Thanks to all the great instructors and staff who led thematic week-long sessions like Photography, Mountain Biking, Arts in Nature, Indigenous Cultures, Rollerskating, and more. And thanks to the outstanding students who joined us and pushed themselves to try different things, learn interdisciplinary connections, and make new friends!

What a blast our Snow Wolf Adventure Camp has been! It's hard to believe tomorrow is the last day. Thanks to all of the Cedar Campus staff and students who joined together to create community and special memories. Field trips, water days, disc golf, mindfulness, martial arts, yoga, arts, and reading...we can't think of a better way to spend June!

Thanks to our families for supporting this year's Scholastic Book Fair. We had almost $4,000 in sales in just two short days. This means we earned over $1,500 worth of new books for our classrooms!

They staff put up a good fight today but, ultimately, the varsity volleyball players dominated and took all three sets in the Staff vs. Students Volleyball Showdown! Thanks to all those who played, and much love to the three staff who "won" the Pie in the Face Raffle. Ms. Patterson, Mr. Cola, and Ms. Mitchell are some good sports!

Love it when students can make connections across disciplines! Thanks to Mr. Clark and Ms. Jackson for leading students in their Climate Change Solutions Project. Read all about it in the Daily Sun:

Special thanks to Cosmic Cycles' Scott Heinsius for providing a bike safety lesson to elementary students on Wednesday and to our PTG for providing breakfast treats when cyclists arrived at school!

The week flew by, but our 7th and 8th graders had a great Washington, D.C. experience. They're headed back to Arizona today and FJA tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing their stories!

FJA's Parent Teacher Group presents Family Movie Night at our Cedar Campus this Friday, May 20th! Bring a blanket and watch Encanto under the stars with your family and classmates! Admission is free! Doors and concessions open at 6:45 p.m. and the movie will start at 7:00ish/dusk. Can't wait to see you there!

Hello 6th Grade Families: Mr. Cola and Ms. Mitchell report that all is well at Camp Colton! Students are studying the water cycle, participating in geology labs at the Lava River Caves, and having fun with community-building activities like the group ski challenge. There's good food, campfires, and lots of fresh mountain air, so rest well, parents.

The weather is great and it's definitely field trip time at FJA! Here's some recent pics of Ms. Shawna's students learning about animal habitats at The Arboretum!

FJA celebrates Bike to School Day this Wednesday, May 18th! Grab a helmet and your bike and ride to school this Wednesday! FJA's Parent-Teacher Group will have breakfast foods available for all riders when they arrive at school! Don't live close to campus? You can still participate by bringing your bike into town and meeting up with your teachers and classmates. Take the scenic route to campus! Cedar Campus students meet at Jay Lively at 7:30 a.m. and Bonito Campus students meet at Flag Downtown Library at 7:15 a.m.

Here's about 25 FJA 7th and 8th graders, along with Close-Up Trip Sponsor Mr. Kuzara, at Sky Harbor Airport early this morning! Safe travels and enjoy Washington, D.C.!

Who remembers their middle school dances? Glad we could hold one before the end of the year for our 7th and 8th graders! The students were awesome...we'd expect nothing less! Thanks to Mr. Chee and Student Council for hosting the night and to our amazing chaperones--Ms. Patterson, Ms. James, Ms. Kaia, Ms. Whitney, Mr. Chee, and Dr. Mo!
