Happy National Bike to School Day! Thanks to all our students, families, and staff who rode bikes to school this week. Special thanks to Cosmic Cycles' Scott Heinsius for providing a bike safety lesson to elementary students on Wednesday and to our PTG for providing breakfast treats when cyclists arrived at school!





The week flew by, but our 7th and 8th graders had a great Washington, D.C. experience. They're headed back to Arizona today and FJA tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing their stories!



FJA's Parent Teacher Group presents Family Movie Night at our Cedar Campus this Friday, May 20th! Bring a blanket and watch Encanto under the stars with your family and classmates! Admission is free! Doors and concessions open at 6:45 p.m. and the movie will start at 7:00ish/dusk. Can't wait to see you there!


Hello 6th Grade Families: Mr. Cola and Ms. Mitchell report that all is well at Camp Colton! Students are studying the water cycle, participating in geology labs at the Lava River Caves, and having fun with community-building activities like the group ski challenge. There's good food, campfires, and lots of fresh mountain air, so rest well, parents.

FJA celebrates Bike to School Day this Wednesday, May 18th! Grab a helmet and your bike and ride to school this Wednesday! FJA's Parent-Teacher Group will have breakfast foods available for all riders when they arrive at school! Don't live close to campus? You can still participate by bringing your bike into town and meeting up with your teachers and classmates. Take the scenic route to campus! Cedar Campus students meet at Jay Lively at 7:30 a.m. and Bonito Campus students meet at Flag Downtown Library at 7:15 a.m.


Here's about 25 FJA 7th and 8th graders, along with Close-Up Trip Sponsor Mr. Kuzara, at Sky Harbor Airport early this morning! Safe travels and enjoy Washington, D.C.!


Who remembers their middle school dances? Glad we could hold one before the end of the year for our 7th and 8th graders! The students were awesome...we'd expect nothing less! Thanks to Mr. Chee and Student Council for hosting the night and to our amazing chaperones--Ms. Patterson, Ms. James, Ms. Kaia, Ms. Whitney, Mr. Chee, and Dr. Mo!

Thanks to Eddie Diaz from Discing4Kids for volunteering his time and sharing his equipment with some of our middle school Wellness classes today. The kids had a blast!



This past week was Educator Appreciation Week at FJA. From pastries to seed packets to homemade cards and gifts, we felt the love! Thanks to all of our students and families and the larger community for showering us with gratitude!
An extra special thanks to Brenda Neeley for coordinating all the donations and to Aubrey Sonderegger for designing our banner. Thanks to Ms. Jeanne, Ms. Anna, and Ms. Natalie for setting up goodies each day. And, thanks to the following businesses for their generous donations: Home Depot, Chick-Fil-A, Warner's Nursery, Bookman's, Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, Mother Road Brewing Company, Barre3 Flagstaff, Safeway, Jessica Williams Massage, Natural Grocers, and Sprouts Market.




After studying the life cycle of a butterfly and watching the four stages of their metamorphosis, Mrs. Bax and Ms. Kaitlin's students released their butterflies! Just look at the excitement and pure joy on the students faces as they watched the butterflies start the next part of their journey.





New Family Registration Week: If your child has been accepted for enrollment at FJA for the 2022-2023 school year, it's time to complete your child's registration. Please stop by either campus this Monday through Thursday, 9:00-11:00 a.m. or Friday, 12:30-4:00 p.m. to drop off enrollment packets, birth certificates, proofs of residency, and immunization records. We can also accept activity fees and answer any questions you may have. We 're excited to welcome your family to Flagstaff Junior Academy.


Lots of student service happening at FJA these past two weeks! Our elementary students raised over $1,400 for The American Heart Association through their Jump Rope for Heart event. And, our middle school students collected over 100 bags of trash on Earth Day yesterday. Pledges for the Trash-a-Thon are due this Friday, and students will select to which environmental non-profits they want to donate monies! Thanks for your support, families!

Our 7th graders took to the San Juan with Grand Canyon Youth and their amazing teachers recently. Days on the river, nights sleeping under the stars, learning more about yourself, your friends, and the world...it doesn't get much better than this!
