Our PTG is hosting a restaurant fundraiser this Wednesday 3/5! When you dine in or take-out at Someburros that day, just show this flyer or mention "FJA Parent Teacher Group" at checkout and 30% of your bill will go directly to our PTG. Thanks and please help us spread the word.

Good vibes at the Glow in the Dark Dance tonight. Thanks to Ms. Mitchell, Ms. Goodell, and Ms. Tsinnijinnie, our parent chaperones, and the Student Council for making it all happen!

Friday's snow day could not deter Valentine's Day festivities at our Cedar Campus. There was crafts and songs and card/treats exchanges. Thanks to our PTG for their creativity and making it fun for the staff, too!

Thanks to Ms. Bax and upper elementary students for coordinating The Great Kindness Challenge and its subsequent Spirit Week. Here's some sweet, silly pictures from last week. Cedar students and staff performed thousands and thousands acts of kindness. Let's keep the momentum going and focus on kindness, FJA!

FJA's first-round lottery closes this Sunday, February 9th at 11:59 p.m. Looking forward to notifying future Snow Wolf families about their acceptance and waitlist status in the upcoming weeks!

We just love this student created flyer about Kindness Week! Our elementary students are participating in The Great Kindness Challenge all weeklong. Here, our 4th and 5th graders use "talking chips" to dialogue and share thoughts about their kindness maps. We can't wait to be a Kindness Certified school!Â

Please share: Only two weeks until FJA's first-round lottery closes at 11:59 p.m. on Sun 2/9.

The new year is an ideal time for a PBIS school climate refresh! This past month, Cedar students created class vision boards and continued learning about self-regulation and reflective strategies like reset breaths, guided imagery, and mindfulness. South Beaver students worked together on teamwork challenges, analyzed Hammurabi's Code and its school code of conduct implications, and set school culture goals. Thank you Ms. Shawna, Ms. Bax, Ms. Patterson, Ms. Carrie, Mr. Sarnoski, and Ms. Angerbauer for developing these unique-to-FJA lessons and activities based upon best practices!

Thanks to the GeoFamily Foundation's recent $57,500 donation, we've reached our original $150,000 Gemini Campus fundraising goal! This donation will be used for our Gemini recreational field. We are overwhelmed with gratitude to the Giovale family and to all in our school community who have contributed time and other charitable gifts to ensure a bright future for FJA. If you'd like to support FJA, you can donate here: https://givebutter.com/giveFJA. You can also support FJA via the Arizona School Tax Credit: https://www.fjacademy.com/o/fjacademy/page/donate

It was a busy and fun couple of weeks leading up to the Winter Break. Thanks to everyone who participated in and supported the FJA Middle School Winter Arts Showcase and Crockpot Meal Night. Also, heartfelt thanks to the PTG and the many families who donated delicious food for the Staff Appreciation Luncheons. We are grateful for all of you. Happy holidays!

The Flagstaff Festival of Science lives on! Ms. Conway's class has had three special guest presentations recently and learned about NASA and space, entomology, and wolf conservation. Thankful for this unique lecture series!

Thanks to our Parent Teacher Group for their continued thoughtfulness! Yesterday, PTG member Rick Nevius and his daughter, Abigail, surprised us at our monthly all-staff meeting with items from teachers' wishlists--composting bins for the Cedar Campus and a coffee maker and local coffee for South Beaver. Thank you, PTG!

Between our Cedar and Beaver Campuses, FJA students and families collected over 1,400 pounds of food this November to donate to the Flagstaff Family Food Center. Grateful for our school community and the spirit of generosity!

Thank you to W. L. Gore & Associates for supporting our students with a $4100 donation through their Gore Volunteer Support Grant Program. Special thanks to FJA parent Jill Knuth for compiling the grant application and submitting it on our school’s behalf.

November is National Native American Heritage Month! Thanks to Ms. Tsinnijinnie and her Navajo Club students for hosting a Spirit Week and educating middle schoolers on important issues this past week.
